How to level up your leadership skills

Have you ever experienced the feeling of being unseen and unheard in your workplace?

If the answer is ‘yes’, you may encounter difficulties advancing your career or negotiating a higher salary compared to your more visible and vocal colleagues. The good news is all it takes is a little polishing up on one of your most important skills – leadership.

Many of us have continued to work from home post the pandemic, and we haven’t had the regular person to person contact that we might have had in the office. So, it’s natural that this can feel a little awkward when we’re a bit out of practice. But no matter your role, you can absolutely level up your leadership skills in your position.

So here are three strategies you can use right away to get noticed at work, placing yourself front and centre for the pay rise you deserve. 🤑

🤝🏻 Build Deep Relationships - Show up as your authentic self, where you're genuinely you. Drop your needs and connect with others deeply. Leaders get to know other people’s needs, so they can appeal to them in an inspiring way.

✊ Display Rock Solid Dependability – Be reliable and trustworthy. Follow through on what you say. Create a list of your core values, that you can refer to when making decisions. This allows you to align your decisions with your beliefs and align them with the larger mission of the organisation.

🧠 Develop Your Growth MindsetTrue leaders challenge themselves to grow. When you receive a criticism or set back in life, how do you view it?  Is it a catastrophe, or is it a way to learn and improve yourself and situation? Consider how you can you keep growing and developing into the most authentic version of you.

When we see others approach their situations and challenges this way, there’s an appeal to it, and when others watch you do it, you will appeal to others as well. 🤩 

I used these tips to secure a pay rise and I know you can too.
